Back in elementary school, I fell at the Bazaar from my wheelchair and broke my arm. Me and my friend were going out to grab a watch from the truck, and when we were going back up the ramp, the front wheels got caught in a crack. The wheels turns slanted and I went flying out the chair onto the pavement. I caught myself with my right arm and it broke on impact. It wasn’t the worst accident of my life, but it had some deep impact in my child hood. It was about 2 days before my birthday party, to which I had to attend with a sling and in pain. That limited me from participating in certain activities and just made the entire night, not the most enjoyable. The reason this accident had so much impact, is because it’s what left my arm crooked permanently. My write arm is crooked near the elbow, and has a couple extra joints in there lol. Overall this was an accident that I remember well, but that I was able to get through , and taught me to be more careful of my surroundings. It’s just one of many that we will cover in this brittle not broken collection. Living with OI, breaks happened often as a kid, but through it all, I was able to get through it, and continue my life. I appreciate Jordan for coming up with this amazing piece of art, and he will give his thoughts behind the piece. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eJordan: “For this design I wanted to display over coming adversities. In the center Christian is shown confidently in front of the area where a terrible fall took place. In the space is everything that affected him from that event such as the cracks in the ground, the ramp used, the truck and watch that he was trying to go for. All of this stuck with him but never held him back. From broken bones to going to the hospital Christian was able to conquer this traumatic experience and would go on to later establish a brand called Spinny Brand Co.”\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis piece will be available in prints, as well as a t shirt release as well, possibly hoodies for the winter! Candlecandoit did this “Happiest Place on Earth” Piece, that recounts my time in Florida in fifth grade. In 5th grade, I got the chance to go to Disney World, Universal Studios, and enjoy Florida for the first time. Unfortunately the excitement was cut short. 5 minutes of being in Disney world, the worst thing you could imagine happened. I fell and broke my leg. The amusement park has train tracks, that the train gives tours on along the park. Well these tracks are subtle and you would think would be a concern. Well as we’re rolling, being pushed my by Dad. We came across the railroad tracks and in a blink of an eye, I smacked the ground. I remember being pulled up from the floor, still in the chair, by my dad and someone else who was attending the park. The front tires of my chair fell into the divots of the track and turned sideways, which stopped out momentum. So since I was being pushed, the weight of my and the chair kept going forward and I fell and hit the ground. It was a painful experience, and I just remember being surrounded by my dad, some workers and everyone staring at me. I don’t remember faces, except hearing a girl crying, asking her mom what happened. It was not a good trip, my leg was broken, and we didn’t go home right away. We stayed remainder of the trip, and everything I was excited for became a really dark and painful experience. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eCandle did a great job showing the happiest place on earth, being overshadowed by a dark cloud. Candle shares his inspiration for this piece:\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e“The goal for this colorful piece is to bring the “Brittle not Broken” to life. Spinny is shown overcoming his trauma of that dreadful event in Florida with his head aimed towards the sky. “\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis line will convey my experiences in life, hardships I’ve gone through, and overcoming them to get here where I am today.
